Our boxes are multi-purpose and have a lot to offer in the area of window dressing for fairs and markets. We are so sure about it we have decided to gather some basic advice for those already getting ready for the new season.
Let’s begin. By definition, window dressing is the art of arranging goods adequately by combining design, objects and materials. Some of its aims are to contribute to increase your sales and promote your branding. Are you in?
Window dressing ideas for your fab markets
How can our cardboard boxes help you?
- They are very practical. A single box is enough to carry, exhibit and store your market goods. And, if you have already been to one before, you will agree it’s important to carry few parcels and the least possible weight… don’t you think?
- Also, you can use them both to show off and store or hide objects that you don’t want people to see.
In this image, for example, we see a cardboard tray being used to hold and show photographs on the left, and its possible use when turned around on the right: keeping change, packaging material, a snack, your phone… (Here we have used our cardboard trays).
- Say yes to sustainability! Our cardboard boxes are made from 100% recyclable materials and are designed and manufactured in our country.
- They are weightless and when folded take up very little space so you can easily carry and store them for other occasions.
- They are low cost and you’ll be able to adapt them to future campaigns by customizing them with other colours or covers.
Where do I start?
By telling a story! Think about your audience and study their interests and what it is that brings about their choices.
In this image you can see 4 90’s accessories arranged to create a minimalist atmosphere, allowing them to stand out and giving them a contemporary look with which your target customers will be sure to identify (here we have used our square cardboard box and our low-cost basic boxes).

There are three key aspects we need to make sure of before going to a market so our arrangement is as efficient as possible:
1. Location: By nature, the hottest spot in any space is near the entrance.
2. Available space: Think about the available area, both horizontal and vertically. Will you have access to a back wall? Put it to good use!
3. Lighting: Depending on the type of goods you are selling, you’ll need to create a more or less intimate, vibrant, warm or maybe aseptic atmosphere. Let’s see a couple of examples that may inspire you:
Let’s say you sell lingerie or other related goods. In this case, it would be ideal to go for dim lighting that projects delicacy and sensuality (here, we have used our shipping boxes).
If, however, your business has to do with sports, the best would be to use bright intense coloured lights that give the space energy and vitality (again, our shipping boxes would be very useful in this case).
Strategy, always strategy.
You may not have a window dressing team at your service but… who needs them? With these basic rules you’ll be sure to succeed!
Think vertically: the higher you go, the better people will see you from a distance and you’ll gain space. Set your goods up high for a more dramatic effect and increased visibility.
Be coherent. Think about which materials/textures/colours make more sense with your values and brand image. If your product is supposed to be handmade or to do with crafts, you’ll support its artisanal value by working on your layout in materials that remind us of this kind of atmosphere.
The arrangement is the key. The idea is to achieve an attractive optical balance. Use the following kinds of settings as inspiration and think about the composition of your layout to achieve a powerful visual impact (once more, our cardboard trays can play a very important role in your stand’s décor).
In a pyramid structure, people always look at the highest object in the middle first. That’s where you should place the product you want to promote, the most profitable one or your product of the season (here, we have used our resistant cardboard boxes).
Arrangements by repetition are especially useful for small objects. If you sell goods that don’t stand out very much visually, we can make them more visible by making a frame for them (in the photo, using our basic cardboard labels).
Regarding the number of objects in your layout, it is always advisable to set out an odd number of goods. This is a basic rule for design that can be applied to any field and is used to attract people’s attention (you can create fun compositions such as this one with our triangular boxes).
The only exception to the previous rule is if you play with symmetry, which is also very visually attractive.
Colour: is the best way to transmit emotions and a great weapon to guide people’s gaze.
Neutral tones, for example, are a good choice to make sure your goods continue to stand out.
And if you are going to use more intense colours, we recommend you use them only for certain products. They will define the hotspot of your layout for it will be the first place customers will look at.
So here we have shown you some window dressing ideas so your market stand is absolutely spectacular. As you can see, you have more than enough resources to stand out and draw people’s attention in the next market or fair you attend. And, as always, our boxes will help you out!
