Travel Memories

6 Nov

When we go on a trip we take time to take photos and videos so we can remember everything we’ve experienced. For the photos we’ve got albums and prints. With all the videos we make we can create a film. But, what happens with the things that we collect during the trip?

Plane tickets, seashells from the beach, maps that we’ve used or even souvenirs that we’ve bought. Where do we keep all these things that are full of memories? They’re all part of our experience in that new place and they would certainly help us to relive many more details from the trip.

In this tutorial we’ll show you an easy and cool way to organize the little souvenirs from your trip. With our surprise gift box, and we’ll make a souvenir themed box!

This way, the small treasures we’ve collected during the trip, won’t get lost in a drawer. It’s really easy and you’ll love the results.

Let’s go!

You’ll need:

STEP BY STEP:

SelfPackaging - Travel Memories - Paso 01-02

  1. The first thing we’re going to do is decorate the box by wrapping it with some maps from the place we visited. If the maps have a vintage vibe, even better. This will give an adventurous touch to our trip.
  2. We can now start assembling the box following the video that you will find on the webpage of the product. Make it easier with a bit of hot glue.

  1. To finish off decorating the box we’re going to draw a few letters with the name of our destination. You can download a free typography, print it and then trace it on the lid.
  1. The next step is to distribute the souvenirs on the lower part of the box. Organize them by theme, place and colour.

  1. We have to fix the items on so that they don’t move. Use hot glue, double sided tape or glue. For the objects we don’t want to fix on permanently, use pieces of cardboard to make belts, mini wooden pegs or washi tape for other delicate objects.
  2. To finish off our souvenir box, we’re going to add some flag shaped tags where we’ll write the names of the objects. You can also write words you’ve learnt during the trip or of important places.
