You and your friends are looking for a celebration and a wedding. The party, the fun, laughter and tears are a must in these kinds of events. These very emotional moments become unforgettable to the bride and groom’s friends and family.
Luckily in your group of friends, one of you just got engaged! There is no time to lose: the fun and the partying should begin, the sooner the better. You have already started planning the bachelorette party but it won’t happen for a while… Why don’t you prepare a kit with “the essentials” the bride must have on the big day? Exactly, the little details a bride needs for that day to be perfect and to feel like she’s glowing.
A bride needs something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. They say a bride must carry “something old” to represent what she’s leaving behind now she has started a new chapter. It can be something that belonged to her grandmother like some jewellery or a ribbon for the bouquet.
Something new is always important as it represents the future. The best is to buy “something new” for the kit. A pair of earrings to match her dress is always a good idea.
Tradition says the ““borrowed object” must belong to a happily married woman so it brings good luck to the bride. After the wedding, she must give it back herself. A good idea would be a pair of hairpins she can wear as part of her hairdo.
And last of all, the bride must have “something blue“. This represents loyalty and fidelity. It could be little flowers for the headdress or a garter, among other things.
Let’s get to work! Lets prepare a kit for the bride with our boxes. It will look really cute!
A super post in collaboration with Esencia Gráfica.
Materials:
- 1 Picnic Box (ref. 2215), white
- Black with white spots grosgrain ribbon (ref: ECD24)
- Downloadable labels and lettering
- Printed labels (red. I-E17_10)
- Plain labels (red: I-ES1_10)
- Paintbrushes
- Black ink
- Silver ink
- Scissors
- Black marker
- Hot melt glue gun
- Something old: satin ribbon
- Something new: earrings
- Something borrowed: hairpins
- Something blue: flowers
- Sweets: blackberries
- Black paper to fill the inside of the box
STEP BY STEP:
- Using the brush, scatter drops of solver paint on the outside of the box.
- With a thicker paintbrush, write the message you want on the front of the box. In this case it is “you are next“. In the list of materials there is a PDF with this message ready to print.
- Cut two pieces of ribbon with white spots and stick them to one of the corners of the box. In this case we have used a hot melt glue gun to do it.
- Assemble the box
- Now it is time to place the black paper inside the box. This way the objects will be properly protected.
- With the black marker we must write down the words “new, old, borrowed, blue” in four different labels. If you need to you can print these four labels
- When each object is with its label, you can place them carefully in the box.
- Close the box and add a decorative bow with the same white spotted ribbon.
And your box for your friend will be ready! Now you just need to get together to give it to her. We are sure she will love it.
We hope you liked this kit and the way we decorated our box!
