How did the idea for ByCris come about?
It came from my desire to create my own hair accessories since I couldn’t find products that fit my needs and tastes. As a result, my circle of friends became interested in the products I designed and made, so I created an Instagram account, where I shared my creations and it was there where I started marketing the products. Over the years I have been professionalizing the brand and my own style and currently we also sell in markets and through a website.
How would you define ByCris and what are its values?
ByCris is my way of transmitting my personal concerns to my current and future customers. I do it through quality products, handmade with local and sustainable materials.
In the retail world, how important is packaging?
It is important to take care of the presentation of your product, this makes the buying process more special. In our case, at the point of sale we use a box in a recyclable corn cardboard bag format from Selfpackaging, which apart from being useful and functional, it can also be used as a gift format.
And the RRSS, are they the perfect showcase?
ByCris has grown thanks to the RRSS, specifically the instagram account @by___cris. It is a way to show the product and reach many people. It is also a space where you can interact with your customers, show different combinations with your product and see how each person takes the accessories to their personal style.

How do you work to be sustainable?
As a designer it was very important for me to generate a sustainable and environmentally friendly product. That is why all ByCris products are handmade, making the most of the energy used, and with products from local stores in Barcelona, thus reducing the carbon footprint in transportation and promoting local consumption. In addition, the use of fabrics is optimized to the maximum, and in some cases recycled fabrics from other products are used to reduce the final waste generated. In terms of packaging, we use recyclable corn boxes, which are made of environmentally friendly paper and can be composted after use.
Next steps; where are you headed?
Currently our goals are to reach more people and grow as a community of people who are part of ByCris. Also, we would like to continue with the markets and continue to innovate and create new products for our customers.
